Day 106 – Spicebush Swallowtail

19 Jul

The name of this butterfly sounds rather naughty, like it could be someones answer to that game of  “what is your stripper name?” Hmm, maybe I just have issues. ANYHOO, my mom and I were once again out photographing the world and we got a few shots in before the rain came to spoil our  fun. I love these little outings with my mom, she tells me stories about the areas she  takes me to, we talk about our how our days were, she drives like a bat out of hell…good times I tell ya.

Today’s shot is obviously this Spicebush Swallowtail butterfly and I thought I would post two so that you could see the backside as well as the inside of her wings because they are both so beautiful. Enjoy!

That would be SUCH an awesome stripper name. And how in the name of all that is right and holy do you find these butterflies to shoot? I can’t find ONE in my yard, and my yard is nicknamed “Butterfly Haven.” True story.

Lovely pics! I think I dated Spicebush AND Swallowtail once… in one night…. in my dreams.

You are such a guy 🙂

I think I might be a butterfly whisperer lol that or my mom just knows where to find them because every time I am out with her she leads me to them.

Yup, when I saw the title of the blog/picture the first thing I thought was “Wow, Min’s shooting porn now” .. the second thing was “How the hell did she find out my old stage name”. I wasn’t nearly as beautiful as this butterfly though.

You old stage name HAHAHAH! Ok that was the best comment!

These are beautiful Min. I especially am loving that first one. BWAHAHAHAHA @ the title. It does sound like the answer you’d get from one of those tests where you find your secret porn name or something! lol

It is great that you go photographing with your Mum. I Love these shots.

They are beautiful and different than what we have around my area.

My mom lives in CA, so we can’t go shoot together much, but she finds that when she goes out, she looks for things that she thinks I would like to shoot. She’s my Cali enabler.

Love the butterfly photo. I agree that seeing both photos just enhances my appreciation of the shots.
